The dormant shopping mall in Jurong East, Big Box, has been acquired by Perennial for $118 million. The developer has also obtained JTC Corporation’s confirmation to change the zoning of the site to a business park.

Perennial will spend $70 million to redevelop the former warehouse space, which has a land area of approximately 606,600 sq ft to attract potential tenants from industries such as info-communications technology, biomedical sciences, consumer goods and finance.

The redeveloped property will be renamed Perennial Business City and is expected to be completed “progressively” from Q4 next year, said the developer.
